I am a nuclear medicine specialist and always trying to implement innovative diagnostic and therapeutic methods in imaging. My main research interests involve infectious and inflammatory diseases, tumor-immunology, and development of new-targeted diagnostic tools for PET imaging. The latter focus is carried out in close collaboration with our radiochemists. Within the lymphoma research Groningen team we have a close collaboration with the department of hematology. The research is focused on finding new methods for diagnosis and therapy evaluation in several types of lymphomas. We have a special interest in post-transplant lymphatic disorders (PTLD). Furthermore, we are developing and evaluating several fields of radionuclide therapy, so called theranostics.

Lactate dehydrogenase levels and F-18-FDG PET/CT metrics differentiate between mediastinal Hodgkin’s lymphoma and primary mediastinal B-cell lymphoma

PURPOSE: This study aims to investigate whether clinical, laboratory, and fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose (F-FDG) PET/CT findings can discriminate between mediastinal Hodgkin’s lymphoma and primary mediastinal B-cell lymphoma (PMBCL). PATIENTS AND METHODS: This retrospective study included 56 patients (42 with mediastinal Hodgkin’s lymphoma and 14 with PBMCL). Posttraumatic osteomyelitis (PTO) is a feared complication after surgical fracture care. Hybrid positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging (PET/MR) systems are now more and more available for clinical use. PET/MR combines the unique features of MR including excellent soft tissue contrast, diffusion-weighted imaging, dynamic contrast-enhanced imaging, fMRI and other specialized sequences as well as MR spectroscopy with the quantitative physiologic information that is provided by PET. Background: Clinicians use several diagnostic modalities to recognize post-transplant complications, such as acute tubular necrosis, acute rejection, urologic and vascular complications.
